About the workshop:This four-day workshop series covers the entire lifecycle of a Digital Humanities project: Data Acquisition, Cleaning and Pre-processing, Data Analysis, and Data Visualization. It provides a clear overview of all the pitfalls and difficulties that frequently take place during the development of any Digital Humanities project targeting an audience of Humanities Researchers with little experience in Computational Methods. Aspects such as data availability, how is that data being delivered in its raw form to users, how computational methodologies work, how many research personnel members is necessary to hire in a DH project, and time management, are addressed.

About the instructor: Elena Fernández Fernández is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Luxembourg, where she works within the Deep Data Science of Digital History Doctoral Training Unit and the Digital History and Historiography research group. Her research focuses on the computational analysis of modernity and lies at the intersection of digital humanities, history, and data science. She is also a Lecturer at the University of Zurich, where she teaches courses in data science. Elena holds a PhD in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from the University of California, Berkeley, and has previously held Marie Skłodowska-Curie and EuroTech postdoctoral fellowships.
