Bullinger Digital, the project for the digital edition of Heinrich Bullinger’s correspondence, organized a closing event on 12 May 2025, supported by the DSI DH Community.

At the event, the team led by Patricia Scheurer and Martin Volk from the Department of Computational Linguistics presented the project’s most important current developments, all of which are aimed at long-term usability and accessibility. For instance, the project team transferred the online search system to the generic environment of the TEI Publisher and introduced an English version of the user interface alongside the original German version.

With the end of the Bullinger Digital project, the responsibility for maintaining the data and the search infrastructure will be transferred to the Zurich State Archives, while the Institute for Swiss Reformation Studies will continue its work on the Heinrich Bullinger correspondence edition (HBBW). Christian Sieber (Zurich State Archives) and Tobias Jammerthal (Institute for Swiss Reformation Studies) gave an outlook on the future of the digital edition, which will remain accessible at www.bullinger-digital.ch.

Lastly, Phillip Ströbel placed Bullinger Digital within the broader Digital Humanities landscape at UZH, demonstrating a wide range of practical applications, emerging research questions, and forward-looking pedagogical approaches.
